    Chekhov’s gun has gone off, in a parellel sort of way. Lex and her delta rays = goofy alien idol in the post-prologue. What will transpire to make this seeming elimination of the Prime Directive as a consideration less than straightforward?

    To be fair, stuff like this can often be rather ring- or pizza-shaped in Trek. (See the explosion of Praxis, for the most famous example…)
