I just remembered, the future folk are phaser proof. If she grabs the laser pistol it will be in the hope that the invisible shield, which obviously lets light through, will also let laser light through. That would be clever, and enjoyable to see, but it should fail since Trek shields tend to stop everything, except Borg shields which allow physical objects through. If it does work, I might be more entertained than nerd-annoyed.

I love that you got the flip-up sight on the pilot phaser, I didn’t even know it had one until I looked up the reference to Wah Chang. It’s curiously similar to the flip up sight on the TNG Type III and interesting how the designers of the laser pistol, the TOS phaser pistol, and the phaser rifle all had enough sense to give the weapons sighting methods. Most scifi guns lack sights entirely, often times triggers too.

    I wonder if that’s Chekhov’s phaser.
