    WHOA…..Leave it all behind…….BUT, all they will have is the engineering section. No motive power…..maybe only thrusters…..

      At this point, motive power really won’t give them much. They can’t reach a dock yard at impulse, so their only hope really is contacting another ship and surviving long enough for help to arrive. The engineering section has the reactors and a lot if not most of the consumables storage (assuming that the massive cargo bay we saw in the refit wasn’t a new addition.) Seems like a safer bet for a prolonged stay than the saucer section, if albeit a far less comfortable one!
