I think it’s really cool you went for an insectoid species. It’s like a callback to that first season TNG episode where Picard had to recite something to an insect species but we never saw them on screen (for budget reasons I’d fathom). Now we get to see one!
It’s one of the reasons I enjoyed TAS, because it was cartoon they could really let their imaginations go wild, there was no limits on that medium. Same goes here.
Last panel should be “Its flashes” and not “It’s” (unless you’re trying to demonstrate that, by the 24th Century, grammar has progressed past such pedantry)
