Da du dumm! It’s a tweest!

Considering their theory of time, retrieving her and fixing things couldn’t have been their reason for being back there, because they supposedly believe time is immutable. Because without them Jin would have been lost in the past, fated to accomplish nothing, it seems a little more likely they took her just because they could, for the museum, as taking a person from their proper place in time might be the only thing which could possibly disrupt things. That’s all assuming their theory isn’t just bull.

They do comment on her having been a huge screwup when they take her to the future.

Nitpick: the revolver chambers and barrel bore are not matched. It looks like it fires .22 call bullets through a .50 barrel.
