Yargo, by Jacqueline Susann (qv). The first book she wrote and her last to be published. It would have made an interesting movie.

If Kammy/Sandy ends up killing Lydia and can’t phaser away the corpus delicti, there is that phone call she can point to, and any case would get kicked fairly high up the food chain. She’d almost certainly end up in some form of witness protection.

Sandy was the news woman on the TV. Kammy is the girlfriend.

Kammy’s not enough of a fighter to do more than mildly injure Lydia. Lydia will then lose her shit and kill Kammy before realizing what she’s done.

There’s still the two guys in the house. They’ll try and stop Lydia before anything worse happens, I hope.

When phasers are on the table, all bets are off.

Jacqueline Susann….a thinly veiled tribute to ST IV, and Kirk’s familiarization of the era?
