Did the Kelvans take our DNA when they took our outward form? If so, they ARE human, or Vulcan or Tellarite…..
Maybe they can just let our childlike game-addicted descendants go on with their useless toy filled lives and the Kelvans can take their place as the explorers and makers. They already made it 2.5 million light years to get here. They have the right stuff.
Rojan refers to the process of taking human form as encasing themselves in “shells”. That could mean a mind/brain transference or a literal stuffing of the body into a casing like Dr. Who’s Slithene.
From what I gather, it seems like all the Kelvans are using the DNA patterns of the five original members of Rojan’s group: Kelinda, Hanar, Tomar, Drea, and of course Rojan. There don’t appear to be any Vulcan/Kelvans or Tellarite/Kelvans, they’re using only the Human form. The real question is, Why are all these Kelvans bothering to use the Human form in the first place? Rojan’s group took Human form to take over the Enterprise because it was “built to sustain these forms” to return to their home galaxy Andromeda. Why take Human form now? There must be plenty of planets in our galaxy where the Kelvans could settle in their true form. When Rojan’s group survived the destruction of their multi-generational ship at the negative energy barrier at the edge of our galaxy, they salvaged enough of their technology to take Human form and paralyze or transform humans into cubotahedrons. If the Federation got their hands on that technology, they could change any number of Kelvans into Humans whenever they wanted.
Things have changed a lot since Kirk made that offer. Would Kelvans have room for autonomy in a galaxy that’s so colonized and united that the Excalbians, Ferengi, Gorn, and even the Borg are assimilated (or obliterated)?
I wonder if this isn’t foreshadowing coming to roost. There are billions of Kelvans heading Federation-ward and the Federation hasn’t made any friends among their brethren.
So this is more than 600 years after TOS?

Oh dang, I think Landru might be back. Or any one of the evil mind control computers they encountered in TOS.

I sense one of those “what it means to be human” stories coming. Those are always the best ones.

All the Kelvan’s have arrived at this point as explained here.
