Mr. Farinas, your anthology episodes would have made a superb Star Trek television series. As that was not to be, I’m pleased that rather than leaving your scripts as unread files on a computer somewhere, you instead labor every week to give them to us in the form of this excellent comic strip. I always look forward to seeing the next installment and thank you very much for your creativity and hard work.
In today’s strip, I particularly appreciate that Jin hopes the Kelvans finally “achieve” their freedom. Alternative word choices, such as “receive” or “get” their freedom wouldn’t make clear the vitally important point that freedom must be grasped. As Kirk put it, “It’s time you learned that freedom is never a gift. It has to be earned.” Both Jin and the Kelvans have earned their freedom, and you, sir, have once again earned your pay for the week.
Jin’s line is excellent and captures some of that Trek magic. Well done!

Thanks, James, for reminding us that language matters. I can’t say that I put much thought into that line, but you sure make it seem like I did :).
