What does the existence of the DS9 Sega game mean in-universe? At first glance it points to trans-timeline travel. It could also means this timeline never had the TNG era.
I just watched some video of the DS9 game, it actually looks kind of nice like Another World and Flashback but the interludes between the action portions look annoying. I also read that the game production faced a lot of challenges.

That before this ends, that Nadifa and Jorpak be playing a Next Generation game in which Capt Archer is using a holodeck- where programmed-in versions of Jordy, Data, Dr Crusher, and Worf are helping him figure something out.

Yep, it faced a lot of challenges. I walked out on it early in the design process and was dragged back in towards the end to try to fix it.
Small point of fact: this is not a two-player game. I should know. 😉
