Be careful of number 7 in the new Paramount/CBS fan production guidelines http://www.startrek.com/fan-films

Yes; that’s the same Paramount studios that canceled Enterprise half way through it’s run. The same one that gave us three Sparkle Trek superhero movies to replace Gene’s Utopian vision of a future where everyone is allowed to contribute and money is not the reason for accomplishment.

Hopefully, a webcomic is not included in “productions”.

I suddenly want to make a fan film violating each and everyone of those tenets…

Remember, folks. This story was conceived years ago, written down months ago, and drawn weeks ago.

Yes, and although each of the 10 items and the introduction refer only to “fan productions”; the title and introduction clearly say “films”. You should be safe in the long run but most lawsuits don’t damage the victim because it is lost, but because he has to pay some lawyer to go away.

Every fan film out there violates at least one of their tenants. The best (such as Exeter’s “The Tressaurian Intersection”) cross many, or (STC, Axanar or Phase II) which may break all.

Fortunately, the studio that owns the franchise has a new explosion filled action movie for us to see very soon.
