Other than losing the last means of escape or help, it’s sensible enough to let him go. She is probably thinking they will all die anyway, and that things will be easier with him gone. No need to waste energy on a fight, or risk additional lives.

My guess is that there is a ship out there. Maybe a chance alignment made it momentarily show up on sensors. It’s the Vulcan science vessel carrying Dr. T’chok. She has a great deal of guilt over the deaths her work has made possible and she would want to help out the last possible victims of it. I hope she can save them, and that she gets away.

Additionally; maybe she’ll take Calhoun with her so he doesn’t rot in prison for the crime of being right. Maybe he’ll find her scars sexy. If not then her intelligence and morality sure are.

The previous shuttle launched went out of control. If this shuttle also goes out of control and hits the engineering section at high velocity, that would kill the remaining survivors. Would reduce the amount of paperwork for the Captain, though.

Unlikely that he will cause much damage with a shuttle, unless he goes berserk and either attacks or rams the ship. There is also the highly unlikely chance that he will find something.

Shrewd move. He is a threat to himself and others. This way, maybe only to himself. Maybe not the wisest move though.
