With the other shuttle as an example the shuttle’s reactors won’t last long enough for him to do anything once he clears the shuttle bay doors a few meters. His only chance should be to do something the moment he hits vacuum. The best odds for attacking the dead zone would be if the ship ejects the port nacelle first so line of sight is clear, but I can’t see that happening at this point. Second best might be to move perpendicular to the dead zone direction in the hope of clearing the chaotic effects, assuming its caused by something directional, and detecting what ever is in the zone from an obtuse angle, assuming there is anything out there. Third, send a signal the moment the shuttle hits vacuum. That all assumes leaving the hull has to happen, because Archer has the right idea in using the shuttle reactor to power something on the ship, assuming the shuttle will remain protected. Then again, the crew has shown the ship does not offer protection, so leaving may be best if the goal is to escape the effect first.
Crewman dies taking the threat out, Barret learns a valuable lesson on not being an arsehole to your Enlisted.
Rembember, they outnumber you by a significant margin.
Anyone else hoping that Captain Number One grabs a phaser rifle and shoots Crewmoron Dum Bass? Even if it is only on heavy stun?
Also, since the shuttlecrafts are working, fire up the engines on the others and have them provide some power to the ship through some jury-rigged umbilicals?
