I understand the need for brevity in a comic, but I still would have liked seeing her dismiss the reading itself rather than just the officer. She could still chew him out for reacting first and thinking last, since he ran off the moment he saw the data blip, without checking for information, if there was any. Worst case, he didn’t bother passing the information up the chain of command, he went straight to the captain twice in a row, first by intercom, then by running to her. She may come off as rigid, but she is actually giving the guy loads of slack, despite lacking any respect for his intuition.
If the shuttle wasn’t already investigating the blind spot I don’t actually understand why it was out there at all. Except, if it was investigating the blind spot it never would have headed straight for the nacelle, it could have just headed straight out the shuttle bay and still get a view past the nacelle.
