This is exactly the kind of thing a Vulcan would do. Pure cold logic, something people tend not to understand because they’re used to Spock. But Spock is half-human, and a poor example of a stereotypical Vulcan.

I think db may have been thinking that despite Dr. T’Chok planned erasure of her own mind and that of her weapons development team, leaving Brody and Zhou unmolested was an unexpected loose end and not satisfying.

Perhaps we’re all too bloodthirsty in our story expectations. All the movies have loose ends “taken care of”.

However, this was a story which was the antithesis of that; it is precisely because they don’t want to take lives that this was done. it was done for a higher moral purpose and not for revenge or personal gain.

I don’t think T’Chok was going to erase her own mind. I was thinking more along the lines of a targeted mind meld erasure of the details of the weapon itself so it couldn’t be recreated. The pirates may have knowledge of the device and the plot to steal it, but not it’s workings. And, you’re right, killing them would have been against the theme of the story, though I did hope people would worry about it at one point.

Personally I thought the vulcan lady was gonna vaporize the smugglers to eliminate anyone else knowing about her weapons and stuff

great series but this panel was a kind-of anti climactic climax. so i hope “peace in our time” is episode II of this.
I’ll be reading as they come online.

I’d have to ask, after vaporizing the secret weapon, knocking Zhou out cold, and a heart to heart conversation between the two women driving the story, what other action would have made this more of a climax? What were you hoping for?

You just did what I would have hoped for in the June 23rd installment – if I had thought of it.
Do Captain Barrett (or Barret?) and her crew find a way to pull off an Apollo 13 with their crippled ship or is this another time?

        “Tune in next week…….”
