This started out as my least favorite of Mark’s stories but it’s grown on me. I find myself in agreement with Lt. Jin about the future federation. I hope she ends up choosing right in how to fix it, because I’d probably do the same thing she’s doing.
I really hope it doesn’t loop off into pointlessness.
I thought she might just fight her way to the controls, but she doesn’t know where the the right stuff is and despite omnicapable Starfleet training I doubt she has the particular training to send the message. I really do hope for something more cooperative.
Either way, it’s going to be interesting to see where this leads.
Part of me hopes it’s a somewhat happy ending. But to be honest with all Jin’s been through and the somewhat, dare I say it “realistic” human approach to the characters; well we might not get a necessarily happy ending.
I’m betting latinum on ‘Jin dies but the Kelvens get their happy ending’.
Of course we might get a double-whammy with “Jin dies and the Kelvens turn out to be invaders all along”.

This should turn out….interesting.
I wonder if this will turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Like, one of the Kelvens steps through instead…BANG…
the cycle repeats.
I really hope it doesn’t loop off into pointlessness.

Have any of these stories to date “loop[ed] off into pointlessness”? I don’t think so.
